THE DEVELOPMENT OF SMART AND SUSTAINABLE CITIES WAS THE FOCUS OF THE 8TH CAP4CITY PROJECT WORKSHOP IN PORTO ALEGRE, BRAZIL
The objective of the event was to carry out the Survey of skills for the development of smart and sustainable cities, within the framework of the CAP4CITY Project, within the framework of Erasmus + Strengthening of the governance capacity for sustainable smart cities.
The Secretary of Economic Development of Passo Fundo, Carlos Eduardo Lopes da Silva, emphasized the importance of the debate on the subject for the construction of processes that positively impact the lives of citizens.
“This issue is very important for the future economic and social development of our environments, and it is more than important to qualify these managers to be prepared, facing the great challenges that lie ahead. That is, more modern managers, more respectful of the environment with new technologies, new concepts, therefore, capable of developing public policies that affect their cities in a definitive way, so that we implement more and more practices that can be considered as decisive for cities to become intelligent, inclusive and sustainable” he said.
As a result of the workshops, a series of video lessons (MOOC) will be developed to enhance and disseminate the concepts, knowledge and skills to create and improve smart and sustainable cities throughout Latin America.
